Follow the money and ask the zillion Walmart customers if they think their money has 'walked out of the door' over the last 30 years.
More accurately, US citizens have turned a blind eye to the source of their cheap T-shirts, sneakers, 4WD and power tools and gorged themselves on imported stuff all priced way below equivalent US product. The US national credit card has been maxxed out by ordinary folk following what they see as their best interests ... simples.
But you are correct in one respect ... 'All this will pass' ... in time the ripples from the big brick that Trump just chucked into the pond will abate as the everyone readjusts to a world with less USA in it ...
... and in the more interesting case of IMU, all this angst over perceived lack of data and pearl-clutching over alleged management incompetence will also pass when Leslie has the pleasure to drop a few clinical trial results into the pharma pond.
