I don't usually have much confidence in the shallow articles on the Motley Fool website. It's a good place to find news and perhaps an idea about a stock I might be interested in researching further. That's about it. However I found this article interesting when l read it a few days ago. It discusses the (lack of) correlation between REIT performance and interest rates.

With term deposits at less than 1% any REIT paying five or more percent looks very attractive. Especially with the prospect of NTA increasing as property values increase due to inflation.
