Have a bit of a read on the history of the Geologists involved. Date back to Macraes discovery. They know the area, are excited about the prospects and have been particularly transparent with their disclosures to the point that we were able to pretty accurately work out the new resource base a couple of months ago.
There are always going to be those that question whether a mining licence will be granted.
Lets say they end up with 5moz. Not inconceivable. Tax revenue in the Billions. Whole lot of new jobs. All tucked away on a back country, privately owned farm which is to be honest, not much use as anything else in an area that already has a working gold mine. Be a big call to say no.
SMI been flying under the radar and likely to continue to do so IMO. Tightly held and most aware this may be a fairly long process. A few years at best, not months.
Lots of drilling still to be done with the largest deposit in size still to be down dip tested.
They could quite easily end up with 5Moz + IMO
Still a chance they don't get a mining licence of course. Cant imagine there will even be an application until the resource is better defined.
ATM you get current resource + resource upside for @ $50oz. Whats it worth if they do get one. 10X 15X ??

Identifiable risks, measurable rewards. Up to the individual as to whether it fits their risk profile IMO.
