I knew someone would post the assumption that they could have succeeded at a nominal premium (although I expected a more generous 40% may have been assumed). However fact remains takeovers don't follow a script for premium levels, each plays out different.
It may even be that OZL tested the water with several of the larger holders. You would certainly assume they had with the next largest holder.
I am not happy with the situation, however companies have to make real world decisions, and I am yet to be convinced that OZL has overlooked any acquisition that would have fitted at a value enhancing price.
