OFX has created uncertainty with some of its numbers (mainly the flat or reduced number of new clients), and with a high forward PE (23x), it wasn't allowed to provide less than above expectations. However, also some confusion because the prospectus period ends September, not the usual FY14 and AGM date.
With careful analysis of the numbers (yes, they raise concerns) and watching this stock closely since its IPO, I bought a small holding on Tuesday. I must admit that I was also encouraged (but very slightly) by two other indicators of a stock's upward momentum:
(a) three directors bought a good chunk of shares on market Monday (reported Tuesday)
(b) all HC discussion has been with people who don't own shares and discuss how awful the company looks (no mention of its 30+% increase in EBITDA and NPAT?).
Using Peter Lynch's famous advice, it also helps that I'm a long-time (since 2009) fairly active client of OzForex, so know them fairly well. They have been incredible in saving me money. Client services have been very good from the beginning, but seem to be getting even better recently.
Still, OFX requires close watching because it does need to deliver strong enough results to justify its sp.
