Many of the LICs, do SPP to build up their market cap over time giving shareholders a chance to continue to build up their holding, brokerage free and usually with a discount. Most years ARG have a SPP. I normally participate each time and is a good way build up a share portfolio at a discount with no brokerage fees. ARG also increase their fees as ToH mentioned without increasing their MER. Win - Win. Better than the unlisted funds which charge for a fee for increasing your investment with a higher MER.
Though could have got some today at $7.12, but still happy
