Hi EB. Thank you for taking the trouble to look for this. I had a cursory look at the scope of work. I now understand why Aspiral needs to be modular.

Para 1.4.1 states the old plant was built to cater for a capacity of 150,000 gpd but currently receives only one fifth of that capacity. The exisiting favility is 40 yrs old and in need for repair and rehab. Due to the fact that the exisiting plant is not utilising the majority of its capacity , and in anticipation of modest increases in flow over the next 20 yrs, the County has determind that the construction of a new WWTP with a rated capacity of 65K gpd would be preferable to upgrading and modifying the existing capacity.

Having a modular arrangement that can add additional capacity , when needed, would solve the above problem of catering to increases of capacity over time. A job for Aspiral!
