Biggest issue for prawns in australia has always been the price making them an occasional or seasonal affair.
Tassal believes it can somewhat compete with cheap imports as consumers are wising up and choosing domestic produce over imported.
They will be the first serious attempt in Australia to initiate an economy of scale in prawn farming, much like that exists in South East Asia. I am confident they will make it successful, question is in what time frame and how large of a moat can they build before competitors start following suit.
