Check Shortman website. It's 7.4% as at Nov 4, and has recently spiked aggressively.
It's a worry and we need to understand what the driver is. Could be a characteristic/attribute pairs trade i.e. long a growth stock/high beta, short a value stock with low vol. Yesterdays change in shorts will expose that if true.
Or it could be something sinister and company specific. Selling price of prawns, ebitda/kg could be it if exports have disappeared. Dunno, that's a guess.
