Not so sure about the desalination plant, maybe IRD knows more than is out there. The plans for and location of the proposed Eyre Peninsula desalination plant to be built by SA Water have been ongoing for more than 8 years. The site at Cape Hardy was rejected by SA Water as it did not meet their budget. However, the subsequent sites around Port Lincoln have been rejected by locals and the RDAEP board. The desalination plant location has also recently been discussed in the Federal government, where the local minister argued that it should be located at Cape Hardy in line with the Federal Government’s 25 million dollar support for the port as being of National priority.
SA elections in March 22, maybe an announcement coming soon re additional government funding?
