I am only saying they are not vulnerable to a HOSTILE takeover. You omitted that word.
They can risk getting into bed with Macquarie because they can stare them down from their impregnable position
IRD will sell out when they are good and ready. They even say so at their Sentient website.

Someone mentioned Sentient and Andean Gold.
From memory around 2008 the share price of AND was around the mid $A0.80 's
Two years later they sold out to Goldcorp around $CA 5.30 and banked APPROX $500 million [ not sure here ]

And guess what ? Sentient and Goldcorp have teamed up approx. 50/50 and are active in OZ some 11 years later.

Now that's what I call a strong business relationship.
