For them to feel this way, and they did indicate a couple of times in the meeting, it is because they have very clear indications of the road ahead.

As I see it, there is not currently much competition out there standing in their way, hard to do poorly in that position. With the momentum Altium have, and the very long period to change the perceived product of choice, their market strength is not going to change anytime soon. In the mean time Altium keep taking even more market share, which cements there place. Products like Octopart are also very key to Altiums position, as it works hand in hand with the core product.
Altium are now for sure the Office of the EDA market. And even thought now there are many products that could match the MS Office offerings, I'm sure MS out sell every other cheaper product many orders of magnitude over.
