Whilst I haven't done my comparative analysis for a while I now think SOL is headed into my buy range. I think that this is turning out to be a bad investment for MLT investors. My reasoning is. They got a 10% above NTA at the Higher value of SOL pegged @$31.00 So essentially their cost at $31 is $28.18. Many as I pointed out before want an LIC investment. This is a hybrid. They would have been excited when the deal was done but since then SOL has retreated from its highs. So from 21 October 2021 ARG is up 8% and SOL is down 16.34%. That is not good for the new shareholders. The crossover point is $28.18 for a SOL share ( that excludes the SOL dividend - shareholders exclude the money that have received - grubby capitalists - lol). Today closed at $28.41. I am waiting for capitulation. I would assume many retirees are watching this and saying that they should have sold earlier and bought ARG or AFI. They would in fact be better off. I am kicking myself for not switching and waiting for the capitulation and switching back in my SMSF.
At this price the horse, cart and buggy have bolted so I will await a rerating.
What I am very interested in is that at this price and if it comes down a bit more I will be very excited as I think SOL is now a unique product that has a lot more stability so that I can increase my portfolio weighting. There is substantially less risk. Huge portfolio underpinning the projects. I would just like them to exit/reduce Vodafone when allowed.
