MLT had a large holding in SOL (8.5% as at MLT’s last monthly update) and, as I understand it, SOL onsold these shares in itself to MQG.
That would have mitigated to some extent the premium they paid to gain control of MLT.
I hope they were liquidating some of these MLT large caps in the late months of 2021 and putting the proceeds into the generally cheaper private markets.
