I'd rather not have dividends and a healthier balance sheet, or re-investment of that capital into growth. Makes for a better acquisition target too.
I had a quick squiz at Silverlake Resources at ~$2B MC, they don't pay dividends either. They have lower free cash flow and double the AISC but they operate in Australia and Canada. And I think that's part of the reason for a suppressed WAF MC... Africa.
