The $1.00 FMG divvy you quoted was Aug20 ... the MIN $1.00 divvy was announced today. The reporting periods they relate to is 6months apart! Hence you used different periods.
FMGs divvy will almost certainly increase ... and just as certainly their payout ratio will be much much higher than MIN. Hence, the divvy comparison will again be nonsense.
FMG has less options to invest its windfall - hence it gives back a much greater percent of its earnings back to its shareholders. If you want yield, invest in FMG (or BHP or RIO). If you want growth, invest in MIN.
