He never said he valued NEU at $8. He said that if a takeover offer was pitched at that level he would likely accept. Totally different scenario. The average takeover premium on the ASX is about 30%. With the shares hovering just under $4 atm an $8 offer is a 100% premium on today’s price. I can guarantee you it would be successful with that premium today.
However once NEU kicks some more goals and the share price starts heading up then I’m sure the future expectation of a fair takeover price will continue to increase. IF for example the shares are trading at $6 when a takeover happens then an offer of $8 will probably not be enough… around $9-10 more likely will guarantee success.
I’m quite sure Little T will form exactly the same view. It’s all about being realistic rather than coming up with a future share price which won’t be reached for years and fantasy takeover prices.
