If you can say what your relative "access time" is, you can state what you write time is, even if it is just relative to something else. Choose the block size that makes the most sense for comparison purposes. I am also OK if you give me a relative update time and a new direct write time. I dont believe any of your caveats hold either, the product is commercially viable now so the specifications for write performance would be valuable to know now regardless of whether they will improve in later iterations of the platform.
