From the CEO's address "I am there to think more broadly about where the world and our clients are evolving toward and shape our investment capability to address this" ... while I appreciate this, it has the feel of a follower not a leader. Clients will 'evolve' to wherever the return is. While a bit of pandering is required in the sales stage, clients want to see returns and to feel like they're jumping on the good thing, rather than a horse which is following them. If the clients were worth following they would just do it themselves. No, they come to a funds manager because they think the manager knows better than they do. Just focus on performance, forget anything else, forget ESG, forget whatever isn't "let's make the highest returns possible" the rest will follow. imho fwiw
