I concur with you. Given Penny is such a good quality deposit, why not explore around it? There should be higher chance of finding new deposits compared to pure green field exploration. Gold don't just normally pop up at a spot like singularity. Of cause, MZ is way more knowledgible than people like me. I hope he can shed some light on this.
