    Personally I don't see it.

    Federal level:
    Well they've already tried to abdicate responsibility, thats how politically lethal this could be (https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-12-04/matt-kean-says-states-asked-to-impose-coal-caps/101732048)

    Sate level:
    They're already asking for input from the federal government (https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-12-05/anthony-albanese-compensation-coal-price-caps-energy-prices/101733094) which says to me its already too expensive. Lizz Truss tanked an economy larger than ours (yes she did it the stupidest way possible) trying this so I'm sure most politicians are hesitant already.

    Price Cap Price:
    I've said this already but the price cap is looking at $12-$13/GJ, and long term contract prices are ~$12/GJ so how is a cap going to help when current prices are below that. Spot prices are higher sure, but VEN is unable to sell on the spot market, so literally doesn't affect us.
