Yes the focus on high quality high valued professional clients is taping into a market that probably isn’t serviced the way it could be by most other banks in Australia (excluding MQG). That extra attention and focus on personal service to high income earners enables them to de-risk their lending portfolio especially at a time where major banks are closing down in regional areas. Whilst the big banks fight it out looking to gain market share by offering them better loan rates than their present customers ABA is targeting high value clients with very competitive rates especially if their LVR <75%, including a greater personal touch, physical branches and actual presence in regional communities. Now they are slowly bringing and increasing that business offering in the major cities leveraging their sponsorship of the Broncos and QLD State of origin team.
