    They did say that the pricing mechanism had measures that would ensure the pricing rose if market prices rose but usually gas users can get a good deal from suppliers needing capital to reach first production and the deal was struck before international prices rose dramatically because of the war in Ukraine .
    I think if VEN made a takeover offer it would be an all scrip deal and would be at a price they negotiated with the MEL Board .
    I think it would be a friendly takeover not a hostile one .

    However gas is seen to be in demand and we have seen what can happen in the Perth basin at the moment .
    However our assets and exploration potential imo are just not big enough or strategic enough to attract that sort of action .
    But who would know ?

    I would be happy to swap my MEL shares for VEN shares if the ratio was fair .
    I own about the same value in both companies .
