Mr Botten writes beautifully. The rain, COVID, inflation, the Ukraine War and a cleaner walking under a ladder have all served to rock Aurelia off its sweaty trajectory. Now we are going to get 12 months of 'a laser-like focus'.
In his opening address, Mr Botten spent two sentences on the problem and two pages on fluff. Aurelia is busy reducing carbon and is sustainably tending to its staff and environmental stewardship. I suppose if you are not digging access drives, processing ore and making profit for shareholders, one isn't producing much carbon. Redpath's people are no longer in harm's way other than getting hang-overs at the Nymagee Hotel or eating out-of-date chicken in their wraps.
It's all quite touching really.
Mr Botten - how about next year, AMI saves some money and gets Blind Freddy to write the 2023 Annual Report.
