Just some quick numbers.
If YAL has aud$2.5bil in cash, 5% interest, would generate income of aud$125mil.
with 1.3bil shares outstanding, YAL can pay around 9.5c in dividends, purely on interest from cash holding alone.
Reading the report as a result of YAL paying off their debt, that's a saving of aud$291mil in financial costs.
That works out to be 22c per share, which could be paid out as dividends.
The above does not take into account profits YAL will make.
