Singleton NSW has had 14.6 millimetres of rain in the two and a half hours to 1130 AEDT on Monday 27 March, so while no need to panic, let's hope this quite widespread rain band that's continuing doesn't create more problems for YAL's open cut Hunter Valley mines.
There had been quite a few warm to hot days earlier in March, so that may have helped to reduce the amount of water held.
