They are required to lodge half and full year reports, but that's not the point. They have done quarterlies in the past (when things looked like they might be improving as it happens), but I'm not asking for what is required, but rather, what might help investors and what might better inform shareholders of progress. It's a perfectly reasonable request.
Secondly, the idea of a budget or some guidance doesn't need to be discounted because some of the information may be 'sensitive' and best kept from competitors. Well just keep that information private. However, the basic principle of working towards a budget or setting some guidance could hardly fit that category. It comes down to the Board having a plan, giving guidance to investors, and informing those of us who both put our money up, and who vote on things such as Board appointments, remuneration and so on. I really expect better treatment from a Board than just the statutory requirements which have at times thrown up frightful surprises. You may posit this Board is different, but in communication, I see very little difference from what has happened in the past. With the poor financial performances that have extended over a lengthy timeframe, surely some consideration and a degree of transparency towards those who have hung in there, would be the decent thing to do. It is very little to ask.
