And my point is Target has been an under-performer for a long enough time and after throwing enough resources at it I believe shareholders would be better served with the Target brand being closed down.
People still have an impression that the main competition for Target is Big W and KMART when in actual fact the businesses that are eating Target's lunch are H&M, Uniqlo and Zara. Have a look at the store count over the last 5 years for those retailers and you'll find it is the inverse for Target. The fast fashion chains have put a choke hold on Target and will keep applying it until there is no oxygen left.
