You can play around with statistics to show what ever you want to convey. The information in the graphs just confirms what we have discussed in this forum too.
As Rodney has neatly analyse the problems for MFG started with the decisions it took during Covid. This point has been put forward by so many in this forum as well by me over last 6 months or so. They took the wrong turn, if you can call it, being extremely conservative when central banks and governments were spending trillions to keep the markets high. Hamish was not expecting how quickly the world will move on from Covid.
So this underperformance has been taken to task by everyone and written off MFG performance ability.
Even Rodney‘a graph shows if you cull the graph around Feb 2020, MFG performance was better than the indexes. This will be even much better if you take it right up to inception. This is pre GFC.
I don’t thick this once in hundred year world event is going to define MFG future performance. Sure if they don’t start outperforming in the future, they will impossible to attract inflow. This is where my confidence is based on MFG portfolio strategy of concentrating on large US based companies with billion $ cash balances will outperform in the new economical conditions we are facing.
