yes, a theory. Oaktree has a number of issues if they want to increase their stake. FIRB and when above 20% they would probably need to do a takeover bid, so it would make your suggestion difficult.
If a large buyer bought on market, it would certainly lift the price, that's part of the reason why the instos aren't on board. They usually want an easy entry at a discount via a capital raise, however there have been few of these over the last year.
As I have suggested before, there has been a large seller in the market all year. You probably have a few bots that trade the stocks and maybe you have a few older holders (who bought at under 3c) that might be saying, it's time to move on.
The main issue is lack of buying rather than too many sellers.
The junior resources end of the market is pretty ordinary at the moment, with most well down for the year.
In the tungsten space here are the 30/12/23 prices and now prices for the tungsten players.
Almonty (AII) was 83c now 59c DOWN 28.9% Group 6 (G6M) was 17.5c now 7.6c DOWN 56.5% Tungsten Mining (TGN) was 9.5c now 7.8c DOWN 17.9%
EQ Resources (EQR) was 4.8c now 6.1c UP 27%
EQR should and will be much higher, but the overall junior mining environment is not exciting.
