I agree with the sentiment, but how could / would shareholders stop this happening? Basically shareholders are told ‘after the deal is done’ and I doubt if there is anything shareholders could do to ‘unwind’ any deal or decision of that nature by the board. Sack the board by all means, but that takes much time to achieve and only after the event, so its like shutting the gate on an empty yard after all the cows have bolted.
