The article states that BNG didn't buy any shares. They could easily have sold their holding.
However I agree with DSK's sentiment that it would be stupid for them to start doing a buy back in an uncertain economic period when discretionary retail is in a slump and there are still inflationary effects. Buybacks are nice but so is a company with no debt and enough capital to get through. Unless BNG has a seat on the board or it comes up for a vote at AGM, they have to like it or lump it.
