Fast overseas expansion into difficult markets like the UK and US - when so many Aussie companies like Bunnings and NAB have struggled in the UK - during a high interest rate era (so hard to take out debt to expand with) and retail slump is the opposite of conservative. If you want to see what reckless expansion can lead to, look at the sad demise of now bankrupt Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Dusk thinks it needs its capital reserves and to remain free of debt to get through uncertain periods ahead and fight another day. I for one am happy with that.
