My question is- How is this deal good for Newcrest shareholders? It is so typical that our large miners are flogged down and then taken over. What is wrong with our government and regulators? This is an important company as gold is re-emerging as a safe haven asset which is proven by the amount of central bank buying of gold over the last couple of years. Once it's gone, it has gone for good. I find it so frustrating that we just seem to roll over for the Americans. At these prices we are just giving away a very important asset.
