yeah the SS was a bit disappointing (I made that comment prior to its release).
Obviously there are clear differences between the two companies - the similarities end at similar market caps running in to a big announcement (SS & DFS), and both having huge deposits.
You're spot on though, gold is a safe haven and the timing for DEG couldn't be better.
