Again we're going a little off topic, but what do you think Saudi Arabia does with its rather large trade surplus? It acquires foreign assets. Most of those foreign assets are developed markets issued, most of which are USD denominated. Regardless of what currency is used for the oil exports, they demand USD to spend their money to buy assets. I suppose they could decide to buy more goods, services and assets from other places. In any case, the link to ZIP is limited. Its annoying that the ZMT monthlies are not published to bloomberg yet, its a publishing delay, nothing nefarious (before anyone infers that).
