The solution is simple to those that hate banks or prefer an alternative. Don't have your money in them. This actually works in a few ways. 1. Your money/wealth do not contribute to the mandrake effect of the Fractional Reserve system. That and fiat is really where the woes in our monetary systems stems from. 2. True wealth is wealth that is hidden. There will always be counter party risks when another party knows how much you own. Not such an issue in Australia but have been in many parts of the world. A good example is the Cyprus Banking Haircut. Not the first time nor the last time this will happen. A version of which is about to be introduced in Sri Lanka soon... I do not know the future so I can't say that a banking haircut will never happen here in Australia. 3. When you have money Government is a liability in so many ways!
Personally I have 10% of my wealth outside the banking/financial system. That is my insurance if sh1t hits the fan.
