A very good post which I've given a thumbs up and two light bulbs.
I do add, if the WES shares are held in a SMSF then no tax is paid in pension stage, this includes CGT and dividends plus franking credits are reimbursed. Therefore it does make sense if an investor builds wealth by selling high and then buying more shares when market weakness allows. This gives the opportunity to increase shareholding without adding more funds.
