an oresorter (there are 3 at Renison) is a high speed conveyor onto which cleaned, crushed ore is fed evenly. The belt moves the ore over sensors -kind of like a hand held metal detector- and rocks with a electromagnetic return are pnuematically ejected from the normal flight pattern at the end of the belt. Thus the good stuff goes one way and the unwanted stuff the other way.
Its the same principal as a colour sorter often used in food grading for fruit.
