You are wasting your time trying to reason with him for the 'go it alone' idea. He has got 200k shares from memory and has made it known he wants to cash out at $50 for a round figure. He sees takeover as the quickest way to get there. That's fine as long as he doesn't try to convince others that is the only way to achieve that price.
I am not saying one option is better than the other as I have been in NEU for more than 10 years as well. But it is interesting to read people push their barrel based on their holding size, small or large.
