Correct!
I *finally* received an email response from the company (and before anyone throws rocks: there is certainly nothing in the email which should be disclosed publicly and which may have an impact on price, etc etc etc)...
The company has confirmed exactly what we already know. Operations on the ground have been impacted by the two hurricanes that recently hit Cuba, leading to delays. They also noted that they are continuing with their remediation efforts but the country is facing constant blackouts. The company rep stated that "We hope to update the market in the coming week".
My thoughts on this brief, rather bland response from the company:
1. Update the market about what? Clearly, we already know about the reason for the delays (this was also previously mentioned at the AGM), so to repeat that would be akin to Little Johnny claiming that the dog ate his homework for the third week in a row. So there has to be some content in the next update.
2. We don't live in a vaccuum and are all aware of the power supply issues in Cuba. That said, I was under the impression that there was a generator on site at the current pad. So I assume that this comment may relate to the supplies (chemicals etc.) coming in from Mexico and Canada. Perhaps there are delays dockside, which are causing for delays in getting materials to site? (hence per point 1 above: nothing has happened just yet, which is why we have not yet had an update).
3. The two "excuses" (hurricanes and power outages) seem to imply that they are yet to make any progress with A2 (otherwise, why say them at all?). My guess, from this, is that nothing has occurred on site since the AGM. Pure guess, but I think we are still waiting for all materials to arrive.
4. The "coming week" is not today, nor is it this week. It's the "coming" week. My guess from that is that the update will come next week (somewhere between 16th and 20th December).
5. "hope to update". Hope may be tied directly to "hope to make some progress" (else see point 3 above: excuses). My guess from this is that they are hoping to have rig, chems, etc all on site next week so that they can announce that something has actually happened.
Summary of this: annoucement next week will simply state that "stuff" is now on site and that they will now commence remediation of A2. As at now status is - at a guess - that "stuff" is in the country but yet to move from the docks.
I note that I got a big fat donut (zero information) on the new pad or the sale / offtake agreements. A massive "nothing to see here" is my guess. No progress there is my best guess.
