Yeah agreed 100%. Another problem they have though in California is that with a smaller snowpack the last couple of years, river flows that growers can harvest from have become less as well and growers have had to rely more on bore water instead. Bore water in most of California is very high in boron, which almond trees do not like at all. It won't kill them but they look like they've been poisoned and it harms production significantly. Crops like cotton or tomatoes, or even tree crops like pistachios, are unaffected by the same boron levels, and so another good reason (next to the low prices) for switching.
