I agree that appointing a CEO with relevant credentials and experience is crucial, but it should be done ethically and carefully, considering the company's largest end markets, which is not in Australia. Noting Directors have a responsibility to discharge their duties with due skill and care, rushing the appointment without an independent selection committee might not be the best, or a "prudent" approach. Ideally, such strategic decisions should have been initiated earlier in OB's tenure rather than on a reactionary basis amid a 249D battle.
