, There are multiple reason for black or dark core, drilling through the many types of mafic and ultramafic rocks that make up these categories is probably the best bet. Dolerite, basalt, **bro, being just a few that make up a huge swag of common rock types. Just ask CGR how they liked drilling through their ultramafic they thought was an IOCG and has run silent on since. I am not criticising anyone just think its better to play with all the facts. Also the best rock colour we need is red brown or dark brown for hematite that is the Iron Oxide part of IOCG.
