Rules are come about with experience.
I lost $1.3m after making $1m T2 trading on a "sure thing" in 12 months not so long ago.
I was trading around $10m a month on that particular platform. Westpac. "Some platforms let you use a 1/3 of your portfolio for T2 trading with no outlay of funds. Totally legal
I thought I was all over it... the market thought otherwise. So now Diversify, Take profit when you can, and protect your capital...and no T2 trading.
While shorting is still legal and the BEOT can manipulate unchecked by ASIC you should have rules.
