As I posted on 16 July it doesn't matter if we receive unfranked dividends because there are provisions in our tax laws where you are entitled to claim a tax offset for foreign income that has already been taxed at source to avoid double taxation of income. The company would be obligated to disclose in your dividend advice the amount of foreign income and the tax paid on that income. The Brazilian tax rate is 34% which is 4% more than Australian Company tax rate. Therefore, you may be better off if you can claim a foreign tax offset.
