    I am not privy to what the Chinese shareholders have in mind with regard to their agenda — I hope you are under the wrong impression, but we'll see going forward as to whether they try to stifle development.

    My assumption is that China would like Australia to export some Dy and Tb for their electric car, wind towers and maglev trains — does Australia have these industries, I don't think so.
    The USA have shown no interest in NTU, the latest news is they are looking at Greenland for rare earths.

    As for nationalisation of NTU, I don't recall Australia ever doing that, no examples come to mind. We have a neo-liberalism government which privatised Qantas, CBA etc under Hawke-Keating. And stopped pretty much building public housing, handballing it to the non-for-profit (tax free) sector.
