Don’t forget Creasy is THE major shareholder at IGO, so from his point of view it would be neat to have the AZS egg in the same basket.
The conversation between Rovira and Creasy preceding the decision to bring SQM on board would have been interesting.
One way to look at it, SQM with their 20% of AZS have bought the right to an offtake agreement, which is what I think they are mainly interested in. I suspect this limited ambition on the part of SQM would have appeased Creasy.
The ultimate ownership of the project probably goes where Creasy wants it to go and my hunch is IGO. But hey, at the end of the day dollars speak the loudest so if some other player comes with a knock out blow things could change.
