Hi Drac
A few points for consideration:
- 100% control
- Flexibility (including private / controlled infrared trust with related parties)
- Cost / scale eg combined super balances of spouses effectively pooling member balances to build up a decent portfolio or larger purchase not otherwise achievable)
- CGT 15% tax on income and gains <12 months - only 10% tax on gains >12 months and of course donuts tax on all income (rent / divs / interest / gains) in pension mode - so can be a question of timing in building up assets (contributions etc) prior to being able to access and capture the uplift in value in a tax friendly environment)
