"Here's a question for the geos and the like out there. What was the biggest miss by Gascoyne? Was it the old geo team not picking up on Never Never which was undercover, or, was it that they missed West Winds and Four Pillars which had already been fully exposed by the Gilbys open pit and which they already had assay / mining results for?"

I have run into a couple of people that used to work there, and asked them the same thing. Interesting story, apparently their resource geo had been pushing that target for years, but never got any support. It was only when the old management got the heave-ho that he got a grade control rig to go drill it. They hit something good straight away, then as the drilled deeper hit the jackpot. Seems like SL got very lucky with timing. As a side note, he sounded a bit difficult to work with and was one of the ones that got let go when they shut down Bit rough to do all the work, get let go, then have SL and others take all the credit.

They also said that the goes knew about the high grade zones under the pits, but they were never really drilled because the went under the old waste dumps and tailings dam - so not obtainable from the open pit.

It looks like the old management team really missed out on the full potential.
